Bella’s Story

Isabella Joy Thallas (Bella) meant many things to the people she crossed paths with. She was kind, compassionate, had a wild side, filled with laughter, humble at heart, and always reminded people to practice gratitude. Some of her friends often described her as a rescuer and a compassionate friend.

Bella was a bright light in a dark and cruel world. She had just turned 21 years old when she was murdered while walking her dog with her boyfriend in a random act of gun violence on June 10, 2020 in Denver, Colorado. “Legacies are built in 21 years and one day” (Joshua Thallas).

Bella was born and raised in Denver. She was a loving family member, a big sister to her two siblings, a sister two years younger, Lucia, and a little brother, Jacob. Later in her teen years, she became a stepsister, acquiring two little brothers, Hunter and Jaxon.

Bella attended Cherry Creek High School. She always had an eye for fashion. After high school, she took online classes focused on fashion business at LIM College in New York and later transferred to Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU). While at MSU, she developed a love for finance and began pursuing her degree in finance. She was an ambitious businesswoman.

Bella once tweeted, "We all have the same intrinsic value. The problem is, not everyone knows it." Isabella’s legacy will inspire collective change, where all humans have the potential to express their own value.

Bella was dedicated to social change movements. She not only highlighted the importance of accessible resources but also wished for human flourishing for all. At one point, she could be found as one of the main models in support of her boyfriend's company, Be A Good Person. Not wanting to ride the coattails of others, she remained a supporter of the cause but continued on her own path in fashion and finance.

Bella carried strong empathy in her heart and always recognized individuals for their struggles. Bella's love and light are still much needed in this world. Join us on this journey to keep her spirit alive.
